Today's Daily Purpose is a simple one. It is one I do weekly if not many times per week.

As we Grow older, so do our parents. Some of us are able to hire assistance or place them in a living arrangement where they get daily help. Some, even have their parents come live with them- To you all.....God bless you and may you have the willpower to not leave them at Walmart, the caffeine to be able to answer their same question 200 times, and the patience to serve them as they did you when you needed their love and care.

Our parents may not have been perfect, but they all did the best they knew how to at the time.

I was a blessed child, I had and still have, two wonderful parents who raised me with kindness, love and compassion. My childhood was peaceful and safe, surrounded by understanding and respect. I never saw my parents fight, there was no such thing. I will be forever thankful for my amazing childhood.

No longer sharing a life together, my parents living their life on separate paths, my mom is now living on her own, still willing and able. I am the main one caring and helping my mom who just turned 75 years old on new years day.

Sometimes I help her out of obligation as I am the only one near by, but most of the time, like 80%, I do it because I love her. She would do it for me, and she did, and she still does in many ways. We are family, and we come from the same heart. There may be challenges here and there, but what are we if we do not care for those who need it?

I may huff and puff when she texts me while I am at the store, currently in line and she wants to add to her already mile long list, but in my heart, I am grateful for the time I still have to serve her. Because one day, I will be begging God to allow me to serve her once again, and to do another load of her dirty laundry.

Thank you mom for teaching me what pure love and service looks and feels like.

Today's Daily Purpose, was serving my mom. As tired as I was, and as happy as I am to be home alone, my purpose for the day was fulfilled, and something tells me this may be my purpose again in the VERY near future. So please forgive me now for a repeat blog post.... :)

What goes around will come around. What once was young, will grow old, turning back into the child like innocence from once they came. -AMS
