Today's purpose was another lesson, better yet, another chance to learn and grow.
Letting go, well, it sucks sometimes. Who wants to let go of anything? Especially something they want or feel they need? Letting stuff go can be so hard, but it can also be so freeing.
Letting go of clutter in the home makes us face our addiction to 'things' and stuff. Letting go of someone we love is some of the deepest pain we can feel. Letting go of old baggage we have held onto so tightly can be scary. But letting go and releasing these things, creates room for the new and/or improved.
Letting go seems to be a part of my everyday world these days. Sometimes, I feel if I have to let go of one more thing, I might as well go live in an ice Castile and be Elsa's neighbor.
Sometimes the idea of letting go of something is too hard to even deal with. I have found that the phrase 'let it be' is easier to swallow sometimes. Like the song
There will be an answer in just letting it be. Stop trying so hard, stop pushing, stop holding on, stop wanting, and just let it all be. Let it be what it is meant to be. Allow the mess. Accept the pain. Be open to change. And let in all of the newness that will rush in to take its place.
Next time you find yourself needing to let go, ask yourself why you are holding on so tight. Sometimes, when we are triggered, that is a sign for us to look at ourselves. Likely, we are holding onto a thought or an expectation, a need or an unhealthy desire.
There is no "try' in letting go, you just do it. As soon as you say "I will try", you are only holding on to that matter all the more. Like a butterfly in your grasp, just open your hands, and see your issue flying away.
So, today's Purpose was: Letting go. For me, it was letting go of a need that I had. Truth is, I don't really need it. And I can accept that I may never get it, and that is ok. When that bothers me next time, I will accept it for what it is, and be much better at moving though it, and doing so faster.
